Griffin Marine Services are approved by the RYA to offer the following online courses for you to complete in your own time. We know that not every one can commit to a classroom based course held over 26 weeks in the evenings or the Intensive 5 day courses on offer . These online courses offer you the best solution.We allow you 12 months to complete your course , and it could not be simpler.

Once you have paid for your course in full we will send you your course pack along with your login details and unique password and we will dispatch your course materials the next day via DHL.

You are then all set to start your chosen course , you will have access to your Instructor online and if you do need to contact us we will answer any questions you have by the next day . From time to time we will contact you to see how the course is progressing and gain any feedback.

The first course we offer is the RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship Course. This is a fantastic course designed to give sailors, powerboaters, divers, in fact any water user, a basic grounding in navigation. Have a look here for a small taster.

To acces the course go to the RYA Interactive page and register as a user and open a account. Then select Griffin Marine Services as your training provider. We will receive an email from the RYA confirming you have registered. Once you have paid, we will send you your login key - after that you are off and running. We will send you your course pack via DHL the next day.

What do I get with the course you will be asking.
All course materials required to complete the course and some recommendations of books that may help you available from the RYA SHOP.

You will need to buy a Portland or Bretton type plotter, some 2B pencils and a decent rubber for the occasional mistake and to keep your charts clean and tidy.

We also offer the C.EV.N.I test and the VHF SRC course information both available through the RYA Interactive website.

The next two courses we offer is the RYA Dayskipper and the RYA Coastal/ Yachtmaster course again both are excellent courses for those wanting to learn more about Navigation these courses are suited for Powerboaters and Sailors alike and you will find question relating to both in the course modules.
There are some fantastic animations for you to look at and with no voiceovers to distract you, you will find the course very easy to follow.There is instant feedback on your work and if you have any questions your Instructor will be online to offer any asistance or advice so no hanging around for emails. You have 12 months to complete the course, many do it in half the time. You are provided with books, charts , practice navigation tables as well as the online navigation package , the course is full of quizzes and questions to help you guage your progress with full working out and instructions.
You will need a Portland or Bretton type Plotter a Pair of Dividers some 2B pencils and rubber for keeping your charts clean and for correcting the odd mistake.
