Beach Lifeguard Training Courses
Griffin Marine Services is committed to Water Safety by being a Affiliated Member of the Royal Life Saving Society UK.
Regular Courses run throughout the year a minimum of four candidates are required for each course. All manuals are included in the course fees.
RLSS UK National Beach Lifeguard Qualification (5 day’s) £185 per person
Designed to establish competence for Beach Lifeguards responsible for the safety of those using an open water location for recreational purposes.
A 400 metre swim in under 7.30 is required, fitness is essential to participate in this course. The syllabus covers the criteria as laid down in the joint RoSPA RLSS UK publications Safety on British Beaches and Safety at Inland Water Sites.
RLSS UK Rescue Boat Crew (2 day’s ) £125 per person
Roles and responsibility of the IRB Crew
Points Covered:
Launch and recovery rescues of craft and casualties , knots , engine and boat maintenance search patterns , communications , first aid afloat sea conditions patrols .
RLSS UK Rescue Helm (2 day’s £225 ) per person
Roles and responsibility of the IRB Helm
Points Covered:
Launch and recovery , driving techniques in different sea conditions , rescues of craft and casualties , search patterns, patrols , communication afloat , basic fault diagnosis for engines care and maintenance of the craft.
RLSS UK IRB TA Course( 3 day’s) £300
Minimum of 2 seasons as a qualified RLSS UK IRB Helm .
Point covered:
Teaching methods , course delivery and assessment lesson plans , site risk assessment types of craft ,course registration and forms .Successful candidates will be awarded probationary TA Status they will then be required to teach and assess a course , this can be arranged through Griffin Marine at no extra cost.
Lifeguard Resuscitation Kit (Oxygen )Programme (1 day) £85 per person
This course is available to current RLSS UK Lifeguards Pool or Beach
Attendance certificates will be issued on satisfactory completion of the course.
First Responder (1 day) £45 per person
Training in Extended Life Support Techniques using an AED (Automated Emergency Defibrillator) . Training can be provided in the work place or at our school facilities.
RLSS UK Emergency Response for Outdoor Activity Supervisors (12 hours )£120 per person
This course has been designed for those supervising Adventure Activities at open water locations ( Ideal for School Teachers). Includes Resuscitation CPR ) First Aid , Aquatic Rescues ,site assessment , emergency action planning and use of appropriate rescue equipment.
HSE FAW Course (One day a week for Four weeks or Four Day’s) £175 per person
A four day course covering First Aid in the work place covering Resuscitation and CPR .Treatment and control of bleeding , treatment of shock , management of the unconscious casualty , recognition of illness , treatment of minor injuries , burns scalds and poisons. Record keeping , personal hygiene when giving First Aid reference to Hepatitis B and Human Immuno Deficiency Virus , communication and delegation in an emergency.

 Accommodation Lodge sleeps groups of 4 up to 24 from £67.00 for 5 nights per person discount of £2.00 per person if you make your own bed.
The Lodge includes a communal kitchen , barbecue area , TV lounge the accommodation consists of 4 berth rooms twins and doubles.The Lodge is situated on the cliffs above Wight Waters Activity Centre a short 10 minute walk away.
